It’s One-Hit Wonder Wednesday! Each week, I’ll pick a one-hit wonder to stir nostalgia and make us all ask “what were people thinking?”
This week it’s “Life Is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me) by Reunion.
This bizarre little ditty by a group of studio musicians who called themselves Reunion is a “patter” song with lyrics made up of musician names, band names, songwriters, record labels, song titles and lyrics, and non sequitors.
The song reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974. And Reunion was never heard from again, although Tracey Ullman covered the song in 1984.
Check back next week for another “One-Hit Wonder Wednesday.”
